Chocolate Brownies

 Why not try our chocolate brownies as an after study treat



Ingredients

  •  6 Tablespoons of Butter, diced
  • 400g Chopped White Chocolate
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup Superfine Sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
  • 3/4 Cup Sultanas
  • Grated Rind 1 Lemon, plus 1 Tablespoon of Juice
  • 1 3/4 Cups of All Purpose Flour

Method
  1. Pre heat the oven to 190C/375F/Gas 5, Grease and line a shallow baking pan (28 x 20cm / 11 x 8in) with parchment paper.
  2. Put the butter and 300g of the chocolate in a bowl and place over a pan of gently simmering water, stirring often until melted.
  3. Remove from the heat and beat in the eggs and the sugar, then add the vanilla, sultanas, lemon rind and juice, flour and the remaining chocolate.
  4. Tip the mixture into the pan and spread into the corners.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes until lightly risen and the surface is only just turning golden.
  6. The centre should be slightly soft then leave to cool in the pan. 
  7. When cool cut the brownies into small squares and remove from the pan.
