As much as you can eat for less than a tenner?! Yes please!
Being students we all know what it's like to be struggling with money and making the decision whether to eat or go out tonight. Well at Yo Yo's you can get an all you can eat buffet for under £15 on week days, and if you fancy a Sunday night Chinese you can eat for under a tenner! However, is it any good?
Well we went a long and tried it out. We started with the starters (as you'd expect)
The buffet has a a selection of starters ranging for Spring Rolls to Wontons. We admit that they have enough starters to keep you coming back but not enough for you to be truly thrilled.
After the starters we set about the main courses. These were much more promising that the starters, with a wide range of spice and different types of meat. Sweet and Sour Chicken, Beef in Black Bean Sauce and Noodles with King Prawns were some of the dishes in the buffet.
There were also vegetarian dishes but not as many as the non-vegetarian choices. None of us are vegetarian but if we were the night would have been spoilt because of the lack of variety.
After we stuffed our faces full of as much Chinese as possible we set about the desserts.
Just like the vegetarian dishes there was a lack of choice in the desserts department, but after the starters and mains there wasn't much space in our stomachs for the desserts. The desserts are based around a big chocolate fountain and an ice cream machine. The idea is to pour ice cream into a bowl, add the chocolate and then add sprinkles/biscuits/marshmallows.
As a cheap and filling restaurant Yo Yo's is hard to beat but for quality Chinese food we'd go somewhere else. Yes, Yo Yo's is cheap and because of the 'all you can eat' system is has a lot of appeal but if you're willing to spend a couple of quid more you can get better quality food without to much bother.
We give Yo Yo in Beijing 3/5
